At What Cost?
It does cost a bit more than a typical DVD, but consider this: The deposition itself may have lasted for six hours. To edit the objections out of that deposition to have it ready for playback at trial, without having first had it synced, will probably take close to six hours. An editors time would exceed the cost of having the deposition synchronized in the first place.
On the other hand, editing a synchronized deposition might only take thirty minutes and can happen at trial. It costs far less, just from the standpoint of editing, not taking into account all of the other efficiencies.
