OPVEONWARD Classroom Scholarship Recipients Announced for 2023-2024 Academic Year

Since 2019, OPVEON has awarded classroom scholarships to Oklahoma teachers through our OPVEONWARD scholarship program. Through this scholarship, we are committed to partnering with Oklahoma public school educators to provide supplies and other necessities for their classroom and students.  

For the 2023-2024 academic year, we selected three teachers to receive $250 each to go towards their handcrafted Amazon Wish List for their classroom. Congratulations to Virginia Dobbins, Katelyn Cline, and Kristen Mauldin, this year’s recipients of our OPVEONWARD Classroom Scholarship Giveaway.

Virginia Dobbins is a reading specialist teacher at Southside Elementary School in Coweta. She serves the entire school -- a student population of over 400 students. Resource teachers like Virginia often get overlooked when it comes to traditional classroom needs, but this scholarship will help her to find new ways to bring the power of reading to her students.

Katelyn Cline is a first-grade teacher at Lynn Wood Elementary School in Broken Arrow. This will be Katelyn’s first year of teaching, and this scholarship will be instrumental in helping her get started in putting together her classroom to meet the needs of her students.

Kristen Mauldin is entering her first year as a math interventionist at Arrowhead Elementary School in Broken Arrow after teaching fifth grade math and science the last four years. She helps students who may be struggling with certain concepts in math and provides focused assistance to help them succeed. This scholarship will help Kristen assemble specific supplies and resources to help her students overcome their challenges and set them up for a bright future.
